The instax mini 40 requires two AA-size alkaline batteries (LR6). Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

2. Film Pack Loading
Use only instax mini instant film. Each pack contains 10 exposures.
- Open the film compartment cover on the back of the camera.
- Align the yellow mark on the film pack with the yellow mark on the camera's film compartment.
- Gently push the film pack straight in until it clicks into place. Do not force it.
- Close the film compartment cover. The camera will automatically eject the black film cover sheet.
- Do not open the film compartment cover until all 10 photos have been taken, as this will expose the film and render it unusable.

- Turn on the camera by pulling out the lens.

- With the camera on, pull the outer rim of the lens barrel outwards until the "SELFIE ON" mark is visible.
- Use the small mirror next to the lens to compose your selfie.
- For close-up shots of objects, ensure the subject is between 0.3m and 0.5m from the camera.
- Press the shutter button to take the photo.
